Discover with us the most famous monuments and attractions of Athens! This comprehensive 3 hours city tour will show you some of the most important sights in the historical center of Athens, including a thorough visit to the Acropolis.

The tour begins inside the Syntagma metro station where your guide will show you shortly (in 10 minutes) the archaeological exhibits that came to light during the construction of the metro line. You will then continue on to the House of the Greek Parliament and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier to watch the changing of the guards. The tour continues to the National Gardens and the impressive Neoclassical Zappeion Hall. Opposite Zappeion, there is the Temple of Zeus and the famous Arch of Hadrian. We cross the road in front of the Arch and we are found in the picturesque district of Plaka. At the entrance of this district, you will see the statue of Melina Merkouri.

We walk up Dionysiou Areopagitou street until we reach the southern gate of the Acropolis. We enter the site of the Acropolis from the southern side to avoid crowds and also to see the Theatre of Dionysus, the most ancient theatre in the world. Walk up to the Acropolis to see the marvelous Parthenon, the temple of Athena Nike, the Propylea, the Erechtheion, the Karyatides and get a breathtaking view of Athens. Your guide will give you a detailed explanation of the glorious monuments on the Acropolis and also of the surrounding monuments, including the Ancient Agora, the Theatre of Herodes Atticus, the Monument of Filopappos and the Pnyx Hill.

The tour ends in the Acropolis. After that, we suggest a visit to the New Museum of the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora in Thission.

Duration: 3 hours in total - the walking time is 45 minutes. There will be ample of time to rest a little in shady quiet places.

Meeting Point:
It is inside the Syntagma Metro Station, next to the ticket validating machines, beneath the hanging clock. Please make sure that you get there at 09:15 a.m. because this tour starts at 09:30 a.m.

The Acropolis ticket can be used for few days (4-5 days) after its purchase and it is valid for the following archaeological sites: Acropolis of Athens, Ancient Agora of Athens, Archaeological Museum of Kerameikos, Ancient Site of Kerameikos, Museum of the Ancient Agora, Temple of Olympia Zeus, Roman Agora of Athens. You can buy this ticket at any of the above archaeological places you visit first and use it for the Acropolis too. Prices of the entrance fees are subject to changes without notice.
